Ronald Wilson Reagan (1911-2004) was the 40th President of the United States and served two terms in office from 1981 to 1989. Roxanne Barton Conlin, feminist and civil justice activist, worked as a lawyer in private practice from 1966 to 1967 before serving as Deputy Industrial Commissioner in Des Moines from 1967 to 1968. Conlin was an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Iowa for seven years (1969-1977), heading the Civil Rights Section of the Iowa Department of Justice.
